A microgrid may need to respond in real time, even when a site has no reliable 4G or 5G connection. That’s why cloud planning and local control have different jobs. In an interview at Avant Power’s launch event, software designer Juha Taipale described how the company’s OpticGrid cloud service works alongside its microgrid controller.
